One goal of Shot in the Dark was to musically capture the spirit of the beautiful town I grew up in, Austin, Texas. Austin is one of the greatest cities in the country because somehow, in an era of gigantic box-stores, suburban sprawl, and chain-restaurants...Austin manages to have a style and character of its own, despite the obvious hegemonic main-stream culture banging at the door. South Congress, the drag, North Loop, South First...these communities and areas rich in culture don't magically happen, and are not magically maintained.

The Austin Independent Business Alliance works tirelessly to maintain that sense of town, of place, and of community.
